Color Name: Yuki Cherry Blossom
(Deutzia) Yuki Cherry Blossom™, a breading break through! The compact, mounding habit of Yuki Cherry Blossom™ is loaded with dainty pink blooms in the spring. The star shaped pink blooms are a fragrant addition to your spring garden or landscape. Extending the flowering season, you will enjoy the beautiful buds for weeks before Yuki Cherry Blossom™ blooms. Yuki Cherry Blossom™ not only provides beautiful spring color, in the fall you will enjoy the burgundy- purple foliage color. Deutzia is a deer resistant shrub that grows best in full sun to part shade locations. Plant in mass, a border, or as a flowering ground cover. Yuki Cherry Blossom™ is a Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.
Growing Tips: Pruning is not necessary, but it can help Cherry Blossom™ grow more dense and tidy. Once a year the flowering stems can be cut down flush with the foliage, and every few years the entire shrub can be cut back, to encourage bushier growth. Very easy to grow in sun to partial shade (full sun is best for heaviest flowering), this Japanese native tolerates drought and poor soil once established. The small (2 1/2-inch) leaves are soft green, making an attractive presence in the border or container. Zones 5 to 8.
