Color Name: Roller Coaster Cotton Candy
Roller Coaster is just plain fun! These varieties are a unique series of New Guinea Impatiens. They not only boast large flowers with double the petals, but each petal has a ruffled margin, like the tracks of a roller coaster which creates a three-dimensional effect in the garden. Loads of vibrant, ruffled flowers are a standout in shade gardens and have double the petals of normal New Guinea Impatiens. Tolerant of hot, humid weather. Thrives and blooms profusely through the hot summer months. Plant in masses for a bold look or use in mixed containers for a colorful filler.
Growing Tips: New Guinea impatiens thrive in part shade with consistently moist, well-drained soil. However, they can also withstand full sun or shade, though the plants may yield fewer flowers in these spots. An application of fertilizer or compost on garden beds and regular fertilization of plants in pots will help ensure the best possible performance. We suggest fertilizing every two weeks during the hot summer months of June, July and August with Maxsea, which you can purchase at Zehr's. When planting in containers, hanging baskets and window boxes, we recommend using our potting soil which is specially formulated for our plants.
