Veronica (Spike Speedwell)
×
Color Name: Pink Potion
Magic Show Pink Potion produces baby pink flowers that cover the top half of the plant. It has an excellent habit and landscape performance. The deep green foliage forms a rounded, low habit that is wider than typical and packed full of flowers. Gardeners will appreciate the vigorous growth rate of this veronica, quickly filling in that chosen space in the perennial garden.
Magic Show Pink Potion is the perfect height to plant behind your low-growing perennials, but in front of your shrubs, and will bloom from midsummer into late summer. Honeybees, hummingbirds, and butterflies delight in their sweet nectar. The dark green, glossy linear leaves display better disease resistance than older Veronica.
Growing Tips: This perennial is tolerant of a wide range of well-drained soil types. Amending soils, especially very heavy and light types, with generous amounts of organic matter will result in improved performance. Although tolerant of partial shade, it will flower better in full sun. Deadheading will promote additional blooms. Shear back the foliage if it becomes worn-looking after flowering.
