Argyranthemum (Marguerite Daisy)
×
Color Name: Sassy® White
Spectacular bright white daisies for all season. Heat tolerant, and sun loving. An all time favorite because of its excellent garden performance. Versatile, use freely in patio planters, and landscapes. Brilliant golden centers accent the pure white petals. These bright annuals bloom from early spring until fall and stand atop lacy, deep green foliage. These pollinator friendly plants are drought tolerant and are great thrillers when planted in patio containers and the landscape.
Growing Tips: While newer Argyranthemum are much more heat tolerant than older varieties, they will still do best with cool night temperatures. Our varieties have been selected to flower continuously without deadheading. If night temperatures are regularly staying in the high 70's or above, plants may flush out of bloom. If this happens, give them a trim using a sharp pair of scissors or pruning shears (think of it as giving your plant a haircut). This will help induce more branching and fresh growth and the plants will be at their best when night temperatures drop and the plants begin to bloom again.
When planting in containers, hanging baskets and window boxes, we recommend using our potting soil which is specially formulated for our plants. An application of a time release fertilizer at the time of planting will help to ensure the best possible performance. Zehr's Osmocote blend is perfect for the job. We also suggest fertilizing every two weeks during the hot summer months of June, July and August with Maxsea, which you can purchase at Zehr's. Begonias, Impatiens and most plants grown for foliage normally do not need as much fertilizer.
