Calibrachoa (Calibrachoa)
×
Color Name: Deep Blue
This adorable, deep blue calibroachoa features thriving, heat resistant flowers throughout the whole season. It is a great performer! The trumpet-shaped blooms sit amongst green foliage and the trailing habit will spill over the sides of your patio containers, window boxes and hanging baskets. The masses of deep blue blooms require little maintenance. Calibrachoas are wonderful for attracting bees and hummingbirds into the garden, where they flower from May until October.
Growing Tips: To keep your calibrachoas happy and healthy plant them in full sun (6 hours or more) and be careful not to overwater them. Calibrachoa do not like "wet feet." If you notice your calibrachoas are wilting even when the soil is damp, chances are it is root rot. Water when the soil on top feels dry to the touch. If you tuck them into garden beds instead of pots, make sure the soil is well drained. No need to deadhead blossoms because these adorable plants are self-cleaning!
Don't let these tiny flowers fool you! They are heavy feeders. We suggest fertilizing every two weeks during the hot summer months of June, July and August with Maxsea, which you can purchase at Zehr's. When planting in containers, hanging baskets and window boxes, we recommend using our potting soil which is specially formulated for our plants.
Do not hesitate to prune and shape your calibrachoa as this will only help to promote new growth.
