Angelonia (Summer Snapdragon)
×
Color Name: Guardian Angel™ Blue
This gorgeous Angelonia has been bred for flower performance as well as a great upright branching growth habit. Its large flower size and garden performance make it a must have. This ever blooming flower makes a wonderful addition to any patio planter or landscape. Planted in the landscape, Angelonias will WOW gardeners with their beautiful shape and structure. They are cold temperature tolerant and will flower well into the fall. Its sturdy flower stems are great for making vase arrangements providing enjoyment for 10 days or more. Blooms all season; heat and drought tolerant plants; grape-scented foliage; low maintenance.
Growing Tips: Angelonia are self-cleaning with no dead-heading necessary. They are heat-loving plants that will grow most vigorously and bloom best when the heat is on. They are best planted in mid-spring or later. Angelonia will tolerate wet feet and a fair amount of drought.
When planting in containers, hanging baskets and window boxes, we recommend using our potting soil which is specially formulated for our plants. An application of a time release fertilizer at the time of planting will help to ensure the best possible performance. Zehr's Osmocote blend is perfect for the job. We also suggest fertilizing every two weeks during the hot summer months of June, July and August with Maxsea, which you can purchase at Zehr's. Begonias, Impatiens and most plants grown for foliage normally do not need as much fertilizer.
