Glow Girl birch leaf spirea is the perfect plant for northern landscapes! This gold-leaf spirea features buds with hints of red that open to white spring flowers. Sunny yellow foliage holds its color well, and the full, compact habit is very attractive. It doesn't burn in the summer and has excellent fall color. Both hardy and heat tolerant.
Growing Tips: Heat tolerant through about USDA zone 9, though should be sited with afternoon shade in hotter climates.
Soil: Adaptable to all soils except very wet sites.
Pruning: Blooms on old wood - prune after flowering if desired.
Uses: Mixed borders; edging; landscaping; wildlife gardens; foundation plantings.
