Hypoestes (Polka Dot Plant)
×
Color Name: Lotty Dotty White
The Hypoestes plant is renowned for its striking leaves, which are a visual delight. Each leaf showcases an enchanting combination of lively colors, featuring a base of lush green adorned with spots, splotches, or streaks of contrasting hues. These patterns are reminiscent of polka dots, earning the plant its endearing nickname. The Hypoestes, commonly known as the Polka Dot Plant, is a delightful and eye-catching houseplant but can also be grown outdoors in patio containers during the warm seasons.
Growing Tips: Your Hypoestes prefers bright, indirect light. Lower light can cause it to grow slower and become stretched out while direct sunlight can burn the leaves. Water thoroughly when the top 25-50% of the soil is dry.
When planting in containers, hanging baskets and window boxes, we recommend using our potting soil which is specially formulated for our plants. An application of a time release fertilizer at the time of planting will help to ensure the best possible performance. Zehr's Osmocote blend is perfect for the job.
