×
Color Name: Aurea
Aurea is a perennial with visually striking foliage. Also known as Golden Creeping Jenny, it has small, round, ¾" leaves that are a brilliant yellow when grown in full sun. Grown in shade the leaves will be lime green or chartreuse. Aurea spreads aggressively, rooting along nodes as it creeps along the ground making for good ground cover. Creeping Jenny needs adequate moisture, especially in the Summer and it thrives in moist to wet areas where other ground covers can not. It is a good choice around ponds, streams and waterfalls and cascades nicely over rocks and walls. Mature height 2"-6"
Growing Tips: Creeping jenny thrives in both full sun and partial shade. The leaf color changes with sun exposure. In full sun, the leaves of the 'Aurea' cultivar will appear golden yellow. In partial shade, the leaves will be a chartreuse or lime green.
Soil: This plant prefers moist, well-draining soil that is rich in humus. It tolerates a variety of soil types, including clay and sandy loam.
Watering: Creeping jenny is a moisture-loving plant. Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy, as waterlogged conditions can cause root rot.
Water regularly, especially during hot, dry spells.
