Carex morrowii (Sedge Grass Upright)
×
Color Name: Everest
The pinnacle of beauty; fountains of narrow leaves with wide, pure-white leaf margins spill over to form compact clumps. A shade-loving grass, 'Everest' is lovely pouring on to a path, or when used as an architectural element in containers or window boxes. Excellent as a rock garden plant or when planted in mass, this new variety adds soft texture and subtle grace to the landscape.
* Spectacular new garden sedge with white variegation!
* Compact, clumping form
* Great near a path or in containers or windows
* Great for rock gardens or mass planting
Growing Tips: This variety can grow in a variety of conditions, unlike some of its relatives. It will tolerate 3/4 day to 1/4 day of sun and grows in moist or average soil. Everest is evergreen in all but the coldest climates. In northern zones, it should be sited out of the way of winter winds and provided with some protection such as snow or straw. If plants look tattered in early spring, cut them back to the ground. The new foliage will quickly fill back in.
