Magnolia X (Magnolia)
×
Color Name: Butterflies
* Large, broad tree
* Cup-like flowers are a deep canary yellow and 3-5"
* Unique new Magnolia
A big, broad, beauty of a tree that sports the best yellow flowers of any Magnolia! That's right! Deep, canary-yellow cup-like flowers that are a stunning 3 to 5" in diameter! A unique and exciting new Magnolia that you'll love!
Growing Tips: Thrives in full sun to partial shade (aim for at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily for the best flower density).
Soil Type: Prefers organically rich, well-draining, neutral to slightly acidic soil (pH 5.5 to 6.5). It tolerates light clay but struggles in waterlogged, stagnant ground.
Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist (not soggy) for the first year or two by watering deeply 1 to 3 times a week. Once established, it develops good drought tolerance
Pruning: Prune as little as possible. If shaping is needed, do it lightly immediately after the spring flowering period ends by removing dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Avoid heavy or hard pruning, which ruins the natural shape.
